The Feds say we are in the Sacramento Region and the State says we are in the SF/Bay area Region. The reason that I say Fairfield is in a no mans land is that for some reason the State and Federal Governments can't agree if we are in the Sacramento or SF/Bay Region. Then came more channels, upgrades, satellites, etc. Remember the old "Fairfield Cable Co"? They had two cables coming into the house and you used an A/B switch to go between Sac and SF/Bay Stations. We are not a suburb or associated with Sacramento. Comcast is in the business of collecting money, not spending it. KQED probably demands money to be carried. More likely, Fox said "you will have to pay us more." It's probably similar with KQED. They claim to have dropped KTVU because Fox insisted on just one affiliate per cable market. Maybe some other reader can provide the details but I believe it involves some arcane rules about territorial rights of broadcasters. I don't think Comcast/Xfinity has any control over this.
